His stories were included on the "Distinguished Stories" list in the Best American Short Stories 2015 and the "Notable Nonrequired Reading" list in the Best American Nonrequired Reading 2015.
His debut novel, Live from Cairo, was published by Scribner in 2017. It was a Kirkus Best Book of the Year and a finalist for the Pen/Hemingway Award.
